I love craft art! I believe everyday useful items should be aesthetically pleasing as well as utile. As a young lad my father took me to the Renwick gallery of the Smithsonian and it changed my life. Seeing wrought iron gates, tableware, textiles, et alia elevated to the level of fine art made me want to be a part of that.
For many years I have worked in the building trades, primarily remodeling/renovations. I’ve been blessed with some great clients who gave me a pretty free hand on design. Together we produced some stuff they love and I can be proud of.
These days I’m trying confine my creative energies to shop built endeavors, but I’m not opposed to some architectural work on the right project.
I am an old, burnt dude that enjoys making cool stuff from wood. I like building custom furnishings. I dig spinning stuff up on lathe since I can usually go from a chunk of wood to finished product in an afternoon. I particularly enjoy projects where I can incorporate salvaged local wood.
